How your body makes poop?

  • When you eat any food, you chew them well in your mouth, where saliva mixes with food to make it softer to pass it easily down your throat, into esophagus known as food pipe.

  • The food passes through the food pipe into the stomach, where the stomach muscles mixes the food with stomach acid and  enzymes which helps in break down of food into a semi-liquid texture called as Chyme.

  • Chyme is then passed into small intestine where enzymes from liver, pancreas and gall bladder are delivered through different ducts that helps in digestion of the food by the process called peristalsis movement of food.

  • When this food is broken down into essential nutrients required for the body, those nutrients and water goes into blood circulation through finger like projections called villi. And remaining products move to large intestine, where more water and nutrients are absorbed and transported into body.

  • The remaining waste products turn into poop and travels down so the rectum and then to the anus which is an exit for poop or gas.
