Is Your Baby Suffering From Acid Reflux?

Reflux in babies occurs when they bring up milk or vomit during or shortly after feeding. This condition often improves without treatment. Reflux commonly occurs in babies because their food pipe (esophagus) is not fully developed, making it easy for milk to come back up. As your baby grows, their esophagus will develop and reflux should decrease. Symptoms of reflux in babies include bringing up milk or vomiting during or shortly after feeding, coughing or hiccupping when feeding, being unsettled during feeding, swallowing or gulping after burping or feeding, crying and not settling, and not gaining weight due to inadequate food intake. Source:-Reflux usually starts before a baby is 8 weeks old and tends to improve by the time they reach 1 year old. Sometimes babies may exhibit signs of reflux without regurgitating milk or experiencing vomiting. This condition is referred to as silent reflux. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/reflux-in-babies/ Disclaimer:-This information is not a substitute for medical advice.
