Some Characteristics are :-
Prevalence in Children:
- Common in children, with approximately 1 in 5 experiencing it at least once.
Sleepwalking Activities:
- During episodes, individuals may sit up, look around, walk, or engage in various activities, including complex tasks like driving in severe cases.
Eye Status and Recognition:
- While sleepwalking, individuals have open eyes but may struggle to recognize people or respond appropriately; however, they can interact with familiar objects.
Duration of Episodes:
- Typically lasts less than 10 minutes, though it can extend for a longer duration.
Post-Episode Behavior:
- After each episode, the person may wake up or go back to sleep.
Memory Recall:
- Individuals usually don't remember sleepwalking the next morning, or they may only recall parts of the episode.
Confusion upon Waking:
- If individuals wake up while sleepwalking, they may feel confused and have difficulty remembering the events during the episode.
