Why Not Janam Ghutti?

Following are the reasons why you should avoid giving Janam Ghutti to your baby:

1. Weak Digestive System:

Newborns have very delicate and underdeveloped digestive systems. Introducing anything other than breast milk into their little tummies can overwhelm their digestive system, wrecking the digestion and potentially causing harm. So anything which is hard to digest should not be given to the babies for at least first six months.

2. Prelacteal Feeds:

Anything given to a baby before breastfeeding is known as prelacteal feed. This includes sugar water, honey, glucose, or the herbal preparations like Janam Ghutti. Some prelacteal feeds like honey can even cause food poisoning in the baby with symptoms like (constipation, loss of appetite and lethargy) and therefore it should be strictly avoided.

3. Risk of Infections:

Introducing non-sterile substances can lead to infections. Newborns have fragile immune systems and are particularly susceptible to harmful bacteria and viruses, so anything with the potential of causing infections should not be given to the baby.

4. Interference with Breastfeeding:

Giving prelacteal feeds can interfere with the natural breastfeeding cycle. It might delay the initiation of breastfeeding, reducing the baby’s intake of colostrum, the nutrient-rich first milk produced by the mother.

Why should be preferred instead of Janam Ghutti for baby's immunity?

Breast milk is the best thing to give to your baby which can strengthen the immunity of your body. Breast milk is often referred to as 'liquid gold' because it is perfectly designed for your baby’s nutritional needs.

Breast milk enriches your little one with:

  • Essential Nutrients: All the vitamins, minerals, and proteins needed for healthy growth and development.
  • Immunity Boost: Antibodies and immune-boosting properties that protect your baby from illnesses.
  • Digestive Health: Easily digestible proteins and fats tailored for your baby’s immature digestive system.

For the first six months of life, it is recommended to exclusively breastfeed your baby. This means no prelacteal feeds, including Janam Ghutti. Breast milk alone will provide the optimal nutrition and protection for your newborn's growth and development.

Source:https://www.momspresso.com/parenting/78c56545feb74c8caf522e975a6e3bf9/article/diapers-can-cause-uti-in-babies-q4gtcnp9lvse Disclaimer:-This information is not a substitute for medical advice. Steam Inhalation Can Be Dangerous for Children!

Steam inhalation is often recommended as a natural remedy for cold and cough symptoms, but did you know that it can be dangerous for children? Steam inhalation can cause severe burns in children, with toddlers being the most vulnerable due to their lack of developed fine motor skills. Often, burns occur on their hands, which may require skin grafting. Therefore, it is crucial to raise public awareness of the hazards associated with steam inhalation. Most accidents happen because children are curious and may grab the hot water, causing it to spill on their hands, abdomens, and thighs. It is generally quite stressful for children to inhale hot steam by sitting bent over a bowl of hot water with a towel on their head. Inhalation using an inhalation device is not only more effective but also more pleasant for children. Child-friendly masks that fit well are available, which make inhalation simple.Contrary to popular belief, inhaling hot steam is not effective in reaching the lower airways. The substances dissolved in the water, such as salt, do not vaporize during evaporation and instead remain in the pan. Evaporation only provides moisture, which reaches the upper airways, such as the nose and throat, but not the bronchi and lungs where the mucus triggering coughing is found and needs to be dislodged through inhalation. Pediatricians advise parents and patients to use a nebulizer for inhalation instead of inhaling steam. They explain that nebulization is the only effective method of inhalation, and using an inhalation device with a jet or membrane nebulizer is the only way to ensure that the fluid being inhaled is vaporized into tiny particles. Only very fine nebulized particles can get into the bronchi and bronchioles, making an impact. Inhaling hot water vapor does not guarantee the same results. So, let's keep our children safe and healthy by avoiding steam inhalation and using a nebulizer instead.Source:-https://www.pari.com/int/blog/the-myth-of-steam-inhalation-why-steam-does-not-help-for-coughs/Disclaimer:-Prioritize professional medical advice. Save a Child's Life with CPR: Step-by-Step Guide

CPR is used when a child's breathing or heartbeat has stopped due to drowning, suffocation, electrical shock, choking, or an injury. It includes rescue breathing and chest compressions to circulate blood until medical help arrives. If a child's blood flow stops, brain damage or death can occur within four minutes. Note that for CPR purposes, puberty is defined as breast development in females and the presence of armpit hair in males. Here are the steps to perform a CPR in child:1. Check for alertness. Tap the child gently and shout, "Are you okay?"2. If there is no response, shout for help and call 911 or the local emergency number. Get an AED if available. Do not leave the child alone until you have done CPR for about 2 minutes.3. Carefully place the child on their back. If there is a chance of a spinal injury, two people should move the child to prevent the head and neck from twisting.4. Perform chest compressions. Give 30 fast and hard compressions, letting the chest rise completely each time. Open the airway and give two rescue breaths if the child is not breathing.5. After about 2 minutes of CPR, if the child still does not have normal breathing, coughing, or any movement, leave the child if you are alone and call 911 or the local emergency number. Use an AED for children if available.6. Repeat rescue breathing and chest compressions until the child recovers or help arrives.AEDs are machines available for home use or found in public places. They are used to check heart rhythm and give a sudden shock only if needed to get the heart back into the right rhythm.Source:- https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/000012.htmDisclaimer:- This information is intended to supplement, not substitute, advice from your healthcare provider or doctor.

यह आपके बच्चे के स्वास्थ्य के बारे में बहुत कुछ बता सकता है!Source:-Baby Poop: What's Typical and When to See a Pediatrician (healthline.com)Disclaimer:-This information is not a substitute for medical advice.
