Ayurvedic Remedies to Treat Eczema
There are several remedies used to treat skin disorders caused by imbalance of doshas. The main line of treatment given in eczema are :
- Dashpushpa- Ayurveda uses ten medicinal herbs which includes Bhadra, Bhringaraja, Sakralatha, Vipareeta lajjalu, Musali, Durva, Sasasruthi, Lakshmana, Vishnukranta that have anti inflammmatory, antioxidant, detoxifying and wound healing properties that relieves the skin disease.
- Shodhana (Detoxification):
- Vamana(Vomit Inducer): It's done using a mixture containing Madanphal, Mulathi, and Parora leaf mixed with neem juice.
- Virechana: It is a cleansing procedure that involve purgation(cleaning of bowel). It's done using Safed nishoth, Danti root, and Triphala (Amla, Bihitaki, and Haritaki).
- Raktamokshana: It is done by removing some blood from patient, traditionally done using a method called Siravedha Karma.
- Lepa (Application of Herbal Paste): Herbal paste made from Yashtimadhu (licorice Root) and ghee. Common herbs used for lepa are haritaki (dried myrobalan fruit) and vidang(false black pepper), giloy and turmeric and shatavari, amla, and neem.
