Take Euglitol 50mg Tablet just before a meal or with the first bite of food Your doctor will determine the dosage and frequency to ensure proper control of your blood sugar levels The dosage may be increased gradually Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor as it may lead to increased blood sugar levels and serious complications such as kidney damage and blindness Remember that Euglitol is only one part of your treatment plan which should also include a healthy diet regular exercise and weight reduction as advised by your doctor Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly while using this medication The most common side effects of Euglitol include a skin rash flatulence gas stomach pain and diarrhea If these side effects bother you or persist consult your doctor Euglitol by itself does not cause low blood sugar levels hypoglycemia However when used in combination with other diabetes medications especially insulin or sulphonylureas it can lower blood sugar levels If you experience episodes of hypoglycemia treat them by consuming plain glucose Table sugar or common sugar will not correct low blood sugar levels if you are taking this medication Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems before taking Euglitol Do not take this medication if you have ulceration or inflammation in the bowel such as ulcerative colitis or Crohns disease Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before using Euglitol Make sure to inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking to ensure your safety Avoid excessive alcohol consumption while using this medication as it may increase the risk of low blood sugar levels
