Polmapro 2mg Capsule

It contains the active ingredient Polmacoxib (2mg) and belongs to the category of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is primarily prescribed for the treatment of osteoarthritis affecting the knee and hip joints.

It works by inhibiting specific enzymes involved in the production of prostaglandins, thereby reducing inflammation-associated symptoms such as pain, stiffness, and redness.

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint condition characterized by the gradual breakdown of joint cartilage and the underlying bone. Weight-bearing joints like the knees and hips are frequently affected. As the cartilage wears away, bones may rub against each other, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced joint flexibility. Inflammation, marked by the release of proinflammatory substances like prostaglandins, contributes to these symptoms.

To enhance its effectiveness and minimize the risk of an upset stomach, it is recommended to take it with food. It is crucial to follow the prescribed dose and duration as directed by your doctor.
Continuing the medication as prescribed is essential, as abrupt discontinuation may result in the return of symptoms.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women are advised against using this medication, as it may pose potential harm to the developing baby.

If you missed a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But if it's almost time for your next dose, just skip the one you missed and continue taking it like you usually do. Don't take two doses at once to make up for the one you forgot.
