What is Normaxin RT?

Normaxin RT is a combination of four medicines: Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium, Dicyclomine and Rabeprazole which treat irritable bowel syndrome. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Clidinium and Dicyclomine are antispasmodic medicines which relax the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). They stop sudden muscle contractions (spasms) which in turn relieves cramps, pain, bloating and discomfort. Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It relieves acid-related indigestion and heartburn by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach.
