How does Aljog work?
Aljog functions by eliminating both the larval and adult stages of the worm through its ability to impede tubulin polymerization leading to energy exhaustion and reduced mobility in the worm This mechanism ultimately results in the demise of the helminth The efficacy of Aljog lies in its capacity to disrupt the normal functioning of tubulin a protein essential for the structural integrity and mobility of the worm By inhibiting tubulin polymerization Aljog disrupts the formation of microtubules which are vital for cellular processes such as intracellular transport and cell division The interference with tubulin polymerization has a cascading effect on the worms overall energy balance As the microtubules are hindered the energy required for the motility and survival of the worm is significantly depleted Consequently the mobility of the helminth is greatly reduced impeding its ability to carry out necessary physiological functions With the helminths reduced mobility and compromised energy reserves Aljog effectively weakens the worms defenses making it susceptible to further damage and ultimately leading to its demise By targeting multiple stages of the worms lifecycle Aljog proves to be a highly effective treatment for helminthic infections
