Who should not take Gemdrin?
Patients who are allergic to Gemdrin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine should not take Gemdrin. This medicine should be avoided in cases of glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye) in patients who have a blockage in the intestine (gut). In addition, patients who are facing difficulty, or are unable to, pass urine and are not currently receiving any form of treatment for this, should avoid taking Gemdrin.
What should I avoid while taking Gemdrin?
Avoid driving or operating machines if Gemdrin causes blurred vision or makes you feel dizzy, confused or disorientated. You should also avoid taking alcohol as it may increase your drowsiness. Taking this medicine may affect your body’s ability to regulate its temperature. As a result, your body temperature may rise more than normal. So, you should also avoid areas with high humidity and high temperature.
Can I take Gemdrin for excessive salivation?
Yes, Gemdrin can be used as it is helpful in cases of excessive salivation and drooling which can be seen in Parkinson’s disease or due to medicines (neuroleptics). It should be taken only if prescribed by your doctor.
Can I stop taking Gemdrin?
No, you should not stop taking Gemdrin suddenly as rebound parkinsonian symptoms may occur. Take the medicine as long as symptoms are there. Your doctor will decide the probable duration required for the medicine.
Who should not take Procy?
Patients who are allergic to Procy or any of the other ingredients of this medicine should not take Procy. This medicine should be avoided in cases of glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye) in patients who have a blockage in the intestine (gut). In addition, patients who are facing difficulty, or are unable to, pass urine and are not currently receiving any form of treatment for this, should avoid taking Procy.
