Menopause and Weight Gain -The Real Reason?
Menopause is stage of life which bring about a range of changes, and the most common weight gain. Well, it happens due to various reasons:
1. Menopause can contribute to weight gain, particularly around the abdomen, due to hormonal changes that occur during this stage of life. The decrease in estrogen levels after menopause can cause fat to be stored around the waist rather than on the hips and thighs.
2. Additionally, menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, poor sleep, or low mood can make it harder to exercise and eat healthy food, which may contribute to weight gain.
3. Age-related loss of muscle tissue, genetics, health conditions such as depression, diabetes, and hypertension, and medications like antidepressants, antipsychotics, and steroids can also contribute to weight gain during menopause.
