Valprol 500 Tablet CR is used to treat epilepsy, a condition causing repeated seizures or fits. They are also prescribed for certain mood disorders like bipolar disorder and for preventing migraine headaches.
Sodium Valproate and Valproic Acid belong to the class of antiepileptic drug or anticonvulsants.It works by blocking channels in the brain that control the flow of electricity. When these channels are blocked, it stops the brain from having abnormal electrical activity, which causes seizures.
Adverse effects include difficulty breathing, blistering or peeling skin, swollen glands, flu-like symptoms, and unusual bruising or bleeding. Swallow the tablet whole; don't crush or break it.
