Introduction to Sitazit D
Sitazit D is a prescription medication designed to help manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This medication combines two active ingredients, Dapagliflozin and Sitagliptin, which work together to improve glycemic control. Sitazit D is typically prescribed alongside a healthy diet and exercise regimen to maximize its effectiveness. It is available in tablet form, making it easy to incorporate into your daily routine. Sitazit D is not available as an injection, syrup, or capsule, emphasizing its convenience as an oral tablet. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting any new medication.
Composition of Sitazit D
Sitazit D contains two active ingredients: Dapagliflozin and Sitagliptin. Dapagliflozin (10mg) is a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. It works by preventing the kidneys from reabsorbing glucose back into the blood, thereby increasing glucose excretion through urine. This helps lower blood sugar levels. Sitagliptin (100mg) is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It works by increasing the levels of incretin hormones, which help regulate insulin and glucagon production by the pancreas. Together, these ingredients help control blood sugar levels more effectively than either would alone.
