The Macorate CR 500 Tablet can be used alone or in combination with other medications It can be taken with or without food as directed by your doctor Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage for you which may be increased gradually until your condition stabilizes It is important to take this medication regularly even if you start feeling better Do not discontinue its use unless advised by your doctor as this may lead to an increase in seizures or worsening of your bipolar disorder Common side effects of this medication include skin rashes headaches nausea difficulty sleeping dizziness and drowsiness Most side effects are temporary and fade away but if they persist or cause significant discomfort inform your doctor There are ways to prevent or reduce these effects Prolonged use of this medication can weaken your bones increasing the risk of fractures osteoporosis Before taking Macorate CR 500 Tablet inform your doctor about any kidney or liver problems meningitis depression or suicidal thoughts Also let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are currently using as some may interact with or be affected by this medication including contraceptive pills If you are pregnant or breastfeeding this medication can be taken if it is clearly needed but the dosage may need to be adjusted If this medication makes you drowsy or dizzy avoid driving or riding a bicycle You may require frequent blood tests to monitor your response to this medication
