Please follow your doctors instructions when taking Laxip Syrup It can be taken with or without food and you can mix it with water or fruit juice if you prefer Take the medicine regularly and try to take it at the same times each day Your dosage may be adjusted based on how well it works for you Do not take more than advised and if you miss a dose do not double up on the next dose It may take at least 48 hours for Laxip Syrup to start working If you are still constipated after three days speak to your doctor The most common side effects of Laxip Syrup include mild abdominal distension cramps and flatulence which usually subside after a few days You may also experience nausea or vomiting To minimize these side effects stay hydrated and take the medicine between meals In some cases serious side effects such as severe stomach pain severe diarrhea mood changes or seizures may occur If you notice any of these contact your doctor immediately Inform your doctor if you have diabetes or if you are lactose intolerant If you use Laxip Syrup for an extended period of time your doctor may recommend occasional blood tests to monitor mineral levels such as potassium and sodium Avoid taking other laxative medications while using Laxip Syrup If you are pregnant or breastfeeding consult your doctor before taking this medicine

Is it okay to take Lactizip every day?

You should take Lactizip for as long as advised by your doctor. You may also take it for as long as constipation lasts, which may be upto a week. For hepatic encephalopathy, the treatment may be longer, may be several months.

Who should not be given Lactizip?

Lactizip should not be given to patients who are allergic to it or are intolerant to lactose (cannot process lactose). It should also be avoided in patients having galactosemia, a rare health problem where body cannot process galactose.

Can I take other laxatives along with Lactizip?

Usually one laxative is sufficient to relieve constipation. In case you need it, your doctor may advise you to take one more laxative along with Lactizip. The risk of side effects is more with 2 laxatives.

How long does it take for Lactizip to work?

It takes about 2-3 days to see the benefits of the treatment. Talk to your doctor if you feel constipated even after 3 days of taking Lactizip.

What is Lactizip used for?

Lactizip is used to treat constipation which is presented as infrequent bowel movements, hard and dry stools. It is also used in patients with hepatic encephalopathy (serious liver problem causing confusion, tremors and decreased level of consciousness).

Yes, Lactizip is a laxative which softens the stools by pulling in water from the body to the large intestine. It is also used to reduce the amount of ammonia in the blood of patients with liver disease.
