Haloderm S Ointment 15gm is utilized for the treatment of various skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema. This combination comprises a potent corticosteroid, Halobetasol, and Salicylic Acid, which aids in skin exfoliation and enhancing medication absorption.

Halobetasol, as a potent corticosteroid, works by reducing inflammation in the skin, alleviating redness, itching, and swelling Salicylic Acid contributes to skin exfoliation, helping to remove dead skin cells and allowing better penetration of the medication

Before applying the medication, ensure to clean and dry the affected area as directed on the label. Apply a thin layer of the medication on the affected skin area and gently rub it in.

Common side effects of this combination may include a stinging or burning sensation at the application site indicated perioral dermatitis, a facial rash resembling acne.

Prolonged or excessive use of potent corticosteroids can result in skin atrophy, particularly in areas with naturally thin skin. Healthcare providers recommend using the smallest amount necessary for the shortest duration to minimize this risk. Salicylic Acid may enhance the absorption of medications through the skin, potentially increasing systemic corticosteroid absorption.
