How Diclo Gel Works

Diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), diminishes inflammation, alleviates pain, and reduces fever, akin to other NSAIDs. It achieves this by inhibiting enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, hindering the production of inflammatory substances like prostaglandins. While COX-1 is consistently active and crucial for normal bodily functions, COX-2 is induced during inflammation. Diclofenac predominantly inhibits COX-2 at target tissues, mitigating pain. Moreover, it modulates pathways involved in pain perception and curtails the levels of pro-inflammatory substances. Its potential in preventing malignant progression is linked to hindering arachidonic acid metabolites, though further research is ongoing.
