Introduction to Bioclast 60mg Injection

Bioclast 60mg Injection is a medicine used to treat osteoporosis, a condition in which the bones become thin, weak, fragile and prone to breakage, more commonly in women after menopause. This injection reduces the chance of fractures by strengthening the bones and slowing down the breakdown of bone in the body. Thereby, it helps in maintaining bone density and reduces the risk of fractures. This injection contains denosumab as its active ingredient which is given especially when other treatments for osteoporosis doesn't work.

Bioclast 60mg injection is available as a solution to be injected in your upper arm, upper thigh or stomach area. It should injected by a healthcare professional and not self administered. This injection is usually given once in every 6 months. Your doctor might add supplements of calcium and vitamin D in your treatment regime which should be followed as directed.

You should tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the other medicines, vitamins, nutritional supplements and herbal products you are taking. Other disease or ailments should also be reported to your doctor. You should also keep a check on the calcium level in your blood as taking this injection while having low calcium in your blood can be harmful. 

You may experience some general side effects associated with this drug such as, red, dry, or itchy skin, peeling skin, pain in arms and back, swelling of arms or legs, nausea, diarrhea, constipation and headache. Some side effects can be serious, you need to call your doctor immediately if you experience any of them. They are muscle stiffness, twitching, cramps, or spasms, hives, rash, itching, difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of the face, eyes, throat, tongue or lips, fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath and unusual bleeding or bruising.
